Nowadays there is a demand of well trained teachers globally. HKL College of education is trying to cater this demand of community by producing well qualified and skilled teachers for the elementary and secondary level. The institution is presently running two courses D.EL.Ed (Regular) 2 years programme and B.ED (Regular) 2 years programme. The institution boasts of brilliantly designed building and strong infrastructure. The institution provides the best of instructional facilities and laboratories to develop skills in the students. The library has best of instructional facilities which is well accomplished with 4000 books of both courses.
The institution has also taken the initiative to start the community services like NSS, Red Cross, and Red ribbon club. We do the best training and teaching with the help of our well qualified and experienced faculty.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
For admission, fraction of marks less than the requisite percentage would not be rounded off to the advantage of the candidates, i.e. 32.9%, 39.9% and 49.9% shall not be rounded off to 33%, 40% and 50% etc.
- Candidates coming from other Universities/Boards/Councils/Bodies must bring with them, qualifying examination Certificates, at the time of admission. Migration Certificate is submitted latest by 30th of September in the University /College Office as the case may be.
- An affidavit by each candidate having gap year seeking admission in the College to the effect that he/she was not disqualified by any Board/Body/Council/University must be given by each candidate. In case the candidate was disqualified, the period of disqualification and the activities in which the candidate was involved during the period of disqualification, should be indicated by the candidate in the said affidavit.
College Leave Rules, Rules for Eligibility to appear in University Exams
- The students are required to attend 75% of the full course of lectures, tutorials, seminars and practical (if applicable) arranged for the class in each subject offered
- A candidate has to obtain the prescribed %age of marks in the aggregate of all subjects in the two House Tests.
- A candidate has to obtain minimum marks as per latest PU Chandigarh rules in discretionary test, if held.
- The onus of timely submission of University Examination Form along with the required examination fee with the college office shall be on the student.
Rules for Mid Semester Examinations
- College will conduct one mandatory House Test in each semester in theory papers.
- The Internal Assessment of students will be based on these House Tests as per PU guidelines.
- i) Absence from these examinations on any ground will be treated as failure with nil marks.
- ii) Students absenting themselves from the House Tests without leave will be fined as per rules.
- Use of Mobiles is banned during exams and a fine of ` 500/- will be imposed if found guilty.
GENERAL RULES:-
- 75% attendance is compulsory for every student.
- Teaching practice is mandatory for all the students.
- Internal assessment will be based on attendance, behavior, house tests, snap tests, assignments and viva-voice.
SPECIAL FEATURES:-
1. ICT resource room: It is a room where teacher trainees are taught about usage of educational technology. The institution has well equipped lab with LCD projector and OHPs. Students are taught methods and techniques like programmed learning, Flanders Interaction Analysis etc.
2. Math and science resources room: During D.EL.Ed and B.ED, Math and science teachers are using well equipped practical labs.
3. Guidance and psychology lab: It is a lab setup to teach the student about various methods of psychological testing. These labs are well instrumented with various apparatus like mirror drawing, Finger dexterity board etc.
4. Language lab: This lab is imposing to focus on the spoken skills of the students.

The students are trained by expert computer professional’s accomplishments of the various disciplines. A free internet facility is available for the students.
GUIDANCE, COUNSELING, PLACEMENTS & SPECIAL LANGUAGE CLASSES
Necessary counseling and guidance and the personal problems of the students are being looked upon. The institution has special guidance for immigration to foreign countries. We provide basic grammar and IELTS coaching for student’s further bright future placements of the students of various departments is being done on those students, those who fall below merit.
HEALTH PROGRAMMES
A sound mind lives in a sound body. So the institute essentially provides health care for its students. Vaccination schedule is compulsory and the medical officer of the institution does regular medical checkup.
EXTRA CLASSES ON PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT
In the classes, the students are provided with the opportunities to develop all aspects of their personality. It includes all the essential soft skills for the personality development like communication skills, problem solving and decision making, team work and team building etc.
EVENING CLASSES FOR WEAK STUDENTS
We are providing classes to weak students to cover up their deficiencies in academics.
SPORTS AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The organization provides adequate infrastructural support for all such student-activities which would provide them with physical fitness & personality development and cultivate in them sportsman spirit, team spirit, leadership and talent. There are in-campus activities like cricket, basketball, volleyball, football, track field, athletics and indoor games.
Wide participation of students is encouraged. Students are also encouraged to participate in inter-colleges, open, invitation and other external tournaments, sports meet cultural and other competitions. Here birthday of every student is celebrated with equal zest and enthusiasm. And collectively celebrations are done once in three months.
CANTEEN & STATIONERY
The institution has a well maintained canteen which provides healthy snacks to the students. The eatables are prepared very hygienically and at a very reasonable rate. The institution has a tuck shop which serves the purpose of a stationery shop, Photo state shop, and a general store so that the students can fulfill their basic necessities in the campus.

Rules & Regulations Of The College & Hostel
1. Student should cooperate in the upkeep of the hostel and fame.
2. Rooms should be kept clean and tidy and students are fully responsible for furniture supplied to them.
3. Jewellery and expensive items are not permitted in the room.
4. Relatives are not permitted in the rooms
5. In sickness, student should report to the principal during school hours and thereafter to the warden.
6. All letters coming to the students will be censored by the Principal/Warden.
7. Parents are requested to come and check the progress of the student from the Principal on 2nd Saturday of every month during working hours only.
8. Training can be discontinued in the case of misconduct, and non observance of the rules and regulations of the institute.
9. Photograph of guardians should be deposited with warden on admission.
10. Students are allowed to go with their parents/guardians only.
11. Failure to return in time will be viewed seriously and strictly.
12. Use of electrical appliances are strictly prohibited in the hostel.
13. Mobile Phones are not allowed in the School as well as in the Hostel.
Disciplinary Actions
Students may be terminated from their study for disobedience of the rules and regulations prescribed by the authorities. Misconduct or taking part in any movement to create any kind of disturbance in the school, hospital or hostel or attempt to stage a strike for any reason what-so-ever or participate in any other activity which according to the principal’s opinion is indiscipline would result in disciplinary action.
